HECTOR SALAZAR ARDILES (CHILE)

He studied at the Juridical and Social Science School of the University of Chile and of the Central University of Barcelona, Spain. He belonged to the Cooperation Committee for Peace in Chile. He has worked as a lawyer for the Vicariate of Solidarity of the Santiago Archbishopric and has been member of the Juridical Team for the Christian Churches Foundation for Social Aid, Director of the School of Law at the University of Christian Humanism and tenured professor on Constitutional Political Doctrines. In 1991, he collaborated with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission created during president Patricio Aylwin’s government. From 1992 to 1995, he was legal adviser of the Human Rights Inter-American Parliamentary Commission. At the same time, he was executive secretary of the Human Rights Commission of the Party for Democracy. He writes in several media in Chile from time to time, such as La Epoca, El Mercurio, La Tercera, La Nación.
