JUAN RIAL (URUGUAY)

A political analyst, he is co-coordinator of civil-military relationships in the project on Latin America of the American University and Peitho. He has also worked as a consultant for international organizations, such as the United Nations, OSCE and IDEA International. He has designed Seminars in Burundi and Rwanda about how to solve past violence conflicts. He also worked evaluating the Guatemalan Armed Forces status after the implementation of the peace agreements. In 1999, Rial participated in a world conference against corruption sponsored by Al Gore, vice-President of the United States for the defense and security forces in Latin America. He also prepared an evaluation for the University of Colombia concerning Easter Timor after the referendum.
